High Fire Danger

High When the fire danger is "high", fires can start easily from most causes and small fuels (such as grasses and needles) will ignite readily. Unattended campfires and brush fires are likely to escape. Fires will spread easily, with some areas of high-intensity burning on slopes or concentrated fuels. Fires can become serious and difficult to control unless they are put out while they are still small. Mowing or edging generally be done in the morning. Mowing, edging, or clearing dead vegetation should be limited to the morning hours. Having a nearby source of water may be helpful.

Director Charles Garcia is a 28 year resident of the City of Lathrop and previously served on the City of Lathrop's Measure C Oversight Committee. He is a husband, father, retired City of Oakland Firefighter and a member of Oakland Firefighters Local 55. Director Garcia comes with 34 years experience in the fire service to help guide the fire district in the right path. Director Garcia has coached Baseball at Lathrop High for over 11 years.
