Battalion Chiefs MOU

The Battalion Chief is the second level of management supervision for our firefighters. They respond in a supervisory capacity to manage multi unit emergencies. They are generally responsible for ensuring the appropriate staffing is available at each of the LMFD's Fire Stations. In addition, they are tasked with larger program oversight and management.

In 2024 the Battalion Chief classification was removed from the Administrative Staff MOU and became recognized as its own bargaining unit.
