The Lathrop Manteca Fire District is a duly authorized and empowered Independent Special District in San Joaquin County. The district was formed specifically for providing Fire and Emergency Services. Other than "County Service Areas," Fire Districts make up the majority of special districts in California. This form of government is unique in that it is specifically purposed for Fire and Emergency services. This means the Lathrop Manteca Fire Districts residents are not prioritizing dollars between sewer, parks, water, and other infrastructure needs. Special Districts allow their constituents to be a local government voice directly for the services they receive. Its really efficient government at its most accountable level: the Local Government Level.

The mission of the Lathrop Manteca Fire Protection District is to protect life and property through efficient and dedicated response to the emergency needs of our community, delivered with care, skill and compassion to all who need our aid!
