High Fire Danger

High When the fire danger is "high", fires can start easily from most causes and small fuels (such as grasses and needles) will ignite readily. Unattended campfires and brush fires are likely to escape. Fires will spread easily, with some areas of high-intensity burning on slopes or concentrated fuels. Fires can become serious and difficult to control unless they are put out while they are still small. Mowing or edging generally be done in the morning. Mowing, edging, or clearing dead vegetation should be limited to the morning hours. Having a nearby source of water may be helpful.

Director Steve Dresser and his wife of 40 years live in the City of Lathrop. Steve is a retired Information Technology professional where he enjoyed over 40 years in the industry. Steve has served numerous terms on the City of Lathrop's City Council, Planning Commission, and various other boards. He was and still is an advocate for public safety and supported the LMFD during his time on the council. Steve is a longstanding and active member of the Lathrop Rotary. He and his wife volunteer many hours at the Lathrop Senior Center. Together they enjoy keeping the community of seniors active, involved, and networked together.
