Fire Station 32
Fire Station 32's primary first response area covers the unincorporated area South of Manteca to the San Joaquin River. It includes the Turtle Beach Camping Resort, the Two Rivers Area, Nile Garden Elementary School, the Venture Academy Charter School, and the Oakwood shores Development. Station 32 has one fire engine company and is staffed twenty four hours every day of the year.
Interesting Fire Fact: Fire Station 32 was built in the early 1970's and was initially home to a water tender and fire engine. Reserve/ Volunteer Firefighters were called back to the station to respond the water tender when needed. On Halloween night in 1977 Lanier "Lanny" Carlson was responding to a working haystack fire in Water Tender 32. While responding Lanny was involved in an accident and sustained grave injuries. This marked the Lathrop Manteca Fire District's first and only firefighter line of duty death. A memorial to Lanny hangs in the lobby at Fire Station 32.
