Fire Engine 35 was purchased in 2019 for approximately $650,000. Engine 35 was purchased to be the first our fire engine at newly opened fire station 35 in 2019. Engine 35 carries 750 gallons of water and meets the standards for a type 1 fire engine per California FireScope, NFPA, and the Insurance Services Office standards. Engine 35 was built to have a tighter wheel base to help it maneuver through the neighborhoods being built in the River Islands development in Lathrop. The neighborhoods have narrow roads and limited access into and out of neighborhoods. The tighter wheelbase has seen many benefits and the LMFD has carried this design forward from Engine 34. Additionally, this fire engine expands on the pump configuration from Engine's 32 and 33 that were easier to maintain and more compact. This fire engine also returns to a time period when fire engines had a "booster reel" on each side of the apparatus. This concept not only saves time but is also quicker for fire attack, thus keeping fires small and reducing the amount of time it takes to pull larger fire hoses.
