High Fire Danger

High When the fire danger is "high", fires can start easily from most causes and small fuels (such as grasses and needles) will ignite readily. Unattended campfires and brush fires are likely to escape. Fires will spread easily, with some areas of high-intensity burning on slopes or concentrated fuels. Fires can become serious and difficult to control unless they are put out while they are still small. Mowing or edging generally be done in the morning. Mowing, edging, or clearing dead vegetation should be limited to the morning hours. Having a nearby source of water may be helpful.

Cal OES Resources

The Lathrop-Manteca Fire District has an outstanding relationship with the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES). Cal OES assists local governments when they are in need during times of disaster. Whether floods, levee failures, wildfires, earthquakes, or some other major emergency Cal OES leverages the State of California's resources to assist local jurisdictions.

The Lathrop Manteca Fire District is assigned and maintains the following equipment from Cal OES. This equipment is staffed and maintained by the fire district. The fire district is allowed to augment its fleet and use the equipment locally free of charge. When the state calls and deploys these assets the fire district is reimbursed per the California Fire Assistance Agreement.
